Concussion Testing

Happy New Year. A parent forwarded me an email from the Berkshire Bruins Hockey program encouraging players to learn more about concussions and the importance of having a base line test completed.

Concussions are a very serious condition and unfortunately, one that occurs in youth sports with more frequency than we would like.

Baseline testing (which must be done BEFORE an injury occurs) is available in the event that your child does suffer a concussion, your doctors will have a "go to" point to assure your child is free from additional risk. Standardized baseline testing is available through BMC 1-413-395-7694.

Many youth sports are encouraging players that have not had a baseline IMPACT test done to do so.

Hoosac Western Massachusetts Champions

Congratulations to the Hoosac Hurricanes - Western Massachusetts Division II Champions!

The Hurricanes beat East Longmeadow 22 - 16 at Westfield State College. They came from behind and scored with just 13 seconds left in the game. It was a an exciting game and they will be talking about the hook-and-ladder play for a long time.

Head Coach (and our former Commissioner) John Duval and Assistant Coach/Adams Delegate Mark Harrington lead the team to their 12-0 Season. The experience our players bring to their high school programs is really paying off!
